I have been called several times and sent a letter regarding a communication error between my security system and TELUS.
The letter and the phone bots asked me to call back to a number that is no longer in service. Bizarre.
I tried to call Telus on another number but cant get past the bots who want only to text me product advice.
What are next steps? Is my system really not reliable or is this a scam?

I had Telus alarm before I had Telus TV as Telus bought out the former company.
The Telus alarm uses cellular and WIFI to call home (Telus) on your security plan. It appears to ping out regularly to ensure it can report when an alarm is triggered.
These notices are likely targeting WIFI not connected as that can be turned off while cellular is always on. This is where I would look first in checking if it is connected to your WIFI network.
