Smarthome+ not letting me login

I’ve been trying over and over again to log into the Smarthome+ app and it literally doesn’t work. It keeps asking you to enable the internet backup then when I do it, it wants me to turn my vpn on. When I turn my vpn on, it tells me that my phone plan isn’t compatible. Are you seriously kidding me? What good is an internet app if it can’t accommodate other mobile plans?
