Wifi Speeds on Actiontec T3200
I've been using the T3200 for a few years now with no issues. I recently renewed my service agreement and was upgraded to the Fibre 500 from the Fibre 250 plan i had as it was better priced. Now i'm noticing that when i do speed tests from my wireless devices i am only getting around 100 mbps up/down. When i run my tests i am in the same room 4 ft away from the T3200. When i run a test on a wired connection i receive 500 mbps up/down on all wired devices. When i check my Network Analyzer app on my wifi devices it tells me i am on a 5G channel. When i do a device reboot on the T3200 i then can get the proper wifi speeds 500 mbps up/down. This will last a day or two then the speed drops again and i have to reboot the T3200 again. I have tried to hard set the 5G channels in the T3200 using 137-161 but i get the same results. I never had this issue when i had the Fibre 250 plan. My wifi speed tests were always consistent. Not sure if the T3200 is starting to fail on me or do i need to upgrade to the Arcadyan wifi 5 router. Below is a snapshot of my wifi settings. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Hey Gman63 - Few fixes we can try! To stabilize your speeds without needing to constantly reboot, jump back into your Advanced Settings and make these two adjustments:
Change the Channel to a Non-DFS Frequency: Instead of "Auto Detect" or the 130s, manually change your Channel dropdown to a dedicated, non-DFS channel in the higher band. Use 149, 157, or 161. This completely prevents the router from scaling down due to radar detection.
Disable WMM Power Save: Keep standard WMM enabled, but change WMM Power Save to Disable. This prevents aggressive power-cycling bugs from dropping your device's link speed.

Thanks Nighthawk and Telus_Support. Looks like i have corrected the issue by disabling the SmartSteering option. I must have reset the T3200 to factory default and not disabled the Smartsteering. Now my devices lock in on the 5G streams and my aggregate link speed is always showing 866mbps Down/Up which is the norm for Wifi 5. My speedtests are consistently 500 mbps down/up on all devices. I did disable the WMM Power Save as it makes sense. I'm leaving the Channel Auto Detect on for the time being as it seems to always select non-DFS channels in the higher band. The Actiontec T3200 gets to live another day....Thanks again for your guidance.

I have the T3200 and on the 5GHz wifi I tend to average around 300mbps. Occasionally I have seen over 400mbps but it varies since I have a ton of other neighboring networks in range. (Like 50+) Occasionally it drops down in the 200mpbs range. There are a lot of factors that affect wifi so speed can vary.
