- 6 years agoYou need the first boost to be connected by Ethernet to the router. The boost units run their own mesh network separate from the WiFi the router runs. You should disable the WiFi on the router to avoid interference and signal congestion.

6 years agoThe T3200M router requires an Ethernet connection to the first Boost. The newer Arcadian unit does not, once the Boost units are set up, it manages the mesh from the router itself, allowing placement of Boost units away from the router location.

Thanks, NFtoBC! How do I know if this is an Arcadian router? If it helps, it was set up last August.

Looks like the Arcadyan router is white. Mine's black, so going by the link xray showed, I better just keep the first booster connected to the router.
Oh well!
