Telus TV+ without home internet subscription?

Hi, Does Telus offer the TV+ streaming service without a home internet subscription? Paying $120 a month for basic cable to watch a handful of TV channels (many of which are available for free over digital antenna) is absolutely ridiculous when there are so many streaming services out there offering free streaming (commercials included).  Commercial-free streaming services are available for a low monthly fee of between $15 and $25 per month.

If Telus does offer TV+ for a reasonable, competitive monthly fee on top of my Telus Mobility subscription, I would be happy to add it. If not, it seems that Telus is missing out on a huge business opportunity which is concerning to me as a Telus shareholder. Many people I know are cancelling their Cable TV and home internet services as there are too many other competitive services out there at the moment.

Optik TV Basics still requires a TELUS TV digital box for $10/month plus and internet connection for an additional $60 - 80/month minimum and is not available for streaming on devices such as mobile phones, tablets or PC's. So over $100/month for a handful of basic channels than I can stream for free over my 5G internet connection on my devices or over a digital antenna that has a one-time cost of under $100. No thanks. I'm already paying for internet in my mobility account.

Telus must have heard me as only a couple hours after posting my rant I received an email offering a brand new service, Stream+, which combines Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime together with TELUS TV+ in one package, streamed over your mobile devices for an additional $23/month. This is what I've been waiting for! Thank you Telus for joining the streaming world!

My understanding is that this is no longer the case. In the days of the old PVR set top boxes you needed the box and Telus Internet to use the service. Optik TV is now cloud based so you only need a Telus account and an Optik TV package as well as a device that can run the Telus TV+ app. Certainly Telus would prefer to bundle everything but it's no longer a requirement.

There may be limits to where you can view content. So you wouldn't be able to watch content if you are in another country for example.

I also wanted to say, even if you are planning on watching a lot of content on Netflix or other streaming services... do you have enough data on your phone to do that? I use 1TB a month (over 1000 gb) just in streaming. If you're planning on streaming a lot you should just get the telus internet/optik tv bundle otherwise you'll eat through your data like crazy unless you only plan on streaming at the lowest quality and only watching a few hours a month.
