Telus TV Mini
Received the new Telus digital device and was impressed with the quick delivery and liked the fact all would be in one box. That soon ended. The remote would not turn on the TV as the old one did. Ha...
Apparently you can't eliminate channels like you were able to do on Optik. But the plus side is you don't end up getting all the annoying promo channels popping up all the time (or at least not yet).
As for the remote syncing, shout out to FuzzyLogic - "You may need to enable HDMI CEC on your TV for the remote to be able to control the TV power with the new remote."
Solved the problem for me.

TELUS Team MemberCan you elaborate on 'you can't eliminate channels'? If you set up a list of favourite channels, you can filter your guide to only show your favourites. The favourite channel set up can be done from the Home screen or from the guide (press and hold OK when a channel is in focus and then choose 'Add channel to favourites'. From the guide, press the options button to bring up filter options.
With Optik you could eliminate channels you didn't want showing up in the guide (e.g., all the kids channels) all the Telus promo channels, and such. That said, there are still a lot of channels I do want and when I tried to create a favourite channel set up it has a limit to how many channels you can include. So I'm not able to get all my channels in one place and am stuck with a lot of **** channels I can do without. So unless you bump up the number of channels you can have in favourites, or get make it possible to not show some of the subscribed channels I now have, I'm actually thinking Optik was a better choice for me.
