Hi, thanks for your quick reply. I am trying to protect myself from any illegal activities that they undertake while using my Internet so I would like to ensure that they are on an easily identifiable IP address so I'm not sure that the "guest" network is the best solution here unless there is something that I don't understand.

5 months agoThe only IP address that is presented to the Internet (WAN) is the one for your Telus router regardless of whether or not the local connection (LAN) is a guest or not.
To get a seperate IP address for the Internet you would need to bring in a second Telus service (router, etc) for your basement dwellers.
