I have a external hard drive connected to my router which have all my movies and TV shows on which I can access via samba share on my home network. Telus recently upgraded me to a network access hub and WiFi 7 booster, tried to connect my hard drive to the network access hub via the USB port just like I did before with my old router, and I login into the admin settings for the network access hub and It doesn't see the external hard drive in the samba share settings. Do you know what I'm doing wrong thanks71Views0likes5CommentsCGNAT Removal and Public IP Address Assignment, Is This Still Possible?
Hello and Happy New Year. I recently moved and am now managing my own TELUS Fibre connection directly. I am trying to resume hosting small game servers and other self-hosted services that require inbound IPv4 access. I have the Technicolor NH20T Network Hub installed and have configured IPv4 port forwarding and firewall rules correctly. However my WAN IPv4 address is 100.84.x.x which appears to indicate CGNAT. As expected inbound IPv4 connections cannot reach my network. I have contacted TELUS multiple times. One representative confirmed this would require backend provisioning changes and issued a reference number. I later received automated issue resolved messages but no change was applied. A follow-up representative suggested upgrading to a business plan. I clarified that I do not need a static IP or special IPv6 features only a public non-CGNAT IPv4 address. That ticket has now been escalated again to backend provisioning. My questions are as follows. In 2026 can residential TELUS Fibre customers still be assigned a public IPv4 address to allow inbound IPv4 services and port forwarding, or is a business plan now required? If CGNAT removal is not available on residential accounts is there any supported residential option remaining? I understand that bridge mode or third-party routers do not bypass CGNAT as this is a WAN provisioning issue. Older threads exist on this topic but many are several months old so I am looking for updated information. Thank you in advance.Solved1.7KViews0likes29CommentsQuestions about Telus Boost access points
I see the following settings on the Easy Mesh page and I'm wondering what they do. These are all enabled at the moment. Role: Auto Legacy Steering: Enabled Disabling legacy steering means that only devices supporting IEEE 802.11k and 802.11v are steered by your TELUS Boost Wi-Fi system to the best connection. Band Steering: Enabled Disabling band steering means that your devices will not be steered by your TELUS Boost Wi-Fi system to the best band (2.4GHz or 5GHz). AP Steering: Enabled Disabling AP steering means that your devices will not be steered by your TELUS Boost Wi-Fi system to the best AP. Do the Boost WiFi 6, Boost Mini 6E, and Boost 7 all have the same features in the admin page? Is there any way to change the transmission power of the antennas? How come under connected devices, none of my TVs, which are connected via WiFi, show the band they're connected to, while my phone, tablet, and laptop do? Are the Smart Device and Guest Networks totally isolated from the main network? I want to connect my IoT devices to the Smart Device Network and guests connect to the Guest Network for security purposes. Is there a reason why the password for the Smart Device Network is unchangeable? Will this be addressed in the future? What is CCMP encryption under the Guest Network? Will WPA3 ever be enabled for this network? Does the Boost 7 support 320MHz bandwidth? Is MLO supported? How often are firmware updates released, and do they automatically update behind the scenes? Are the access points and NAH very secure?210Views0likes12CommentsIPV6 port forwarding not working
Hello Telus neighbours; For past 4 day's I've been struggling to get IPV6 ports to forward. I'm on Fiber Optic using NH20T, that accepts the setting, however it fails to work. I've reset the NH20T several times and carefully chosen my port, my ipv6 address, to no avail. What am I missing?65Views0likes3CommentsProperty Damage From Recent Cable Installation
We had Telus workes installing the new cables at our house last week. We noticed that they ruined part of our front yard, not only the grass but small plants and bushes. By that day I was upset, but moved on. Today, we had a rainy afternoon around here. We were away from home, and by the time we got back, our basement was flooded. Water was coming from the basement window. It was caused by the new Telus cable that wasnt dig deep enough, and was left behind with a slope coming down to my basement window. Before then, that area around the window would be completely dry after each rain, since we had a slope in the opposite direction and the plants were protecting it. We had to rebuild the slope to avoid more water coming down during the rain, and it was easy to spot Telus’ new cable. I’d appreciate to hear back from you on what you are going to do to remedy this situation.274Views0likes8CommentsHome service Internet issue
Hey everyone, looking for some help or advice to get an ongoing usage meter glitch fixed on my account. For a while now, my home internet data tracking in both the My TELUS app and the web portal completely wipes and resets to 0 GB every night at 12:00 AM instead of accumulating across my monthly billing cycle. Because of this, I have no way to see what my household is actually using month-to-month. PureFibre tech support escalated a backend ticket with a 5–7 day turnaround, but I'm trying to figure out if there is anything I can do on my end, a specific setting to toggle, or an effective way to get this resolved. Has anyone here run into this exact daily reset bug and managed to fix it, or can a TELUS Neighbourhood moderator please look into my account provisioning to get the tracking working properly? Any help would be appreciated! resync needs to happen it’s a on going issue and all my tickets keep on getting put in the middle and no fix has came48Views0likes1CommentInternet Backup feature - does it work?
Has anyone got Internet Backup to work? https://www.telus.com/en/internet/internet-backup We are currently in a 9+ day internet outage due to a fire damaging equipment on our street. Had a tech visit and also spent almost 3 hours on the phone with various Telus agents. They were not able to resolve. I downloaded the Telus Smart Home app and tried to configure Internet Backup but it says I have an incompatible router. I have a network hub and wifi 6 router. I read that should be able to configure even after the outage. I am guessing someone should be able to resolve, but not sure how to get in contact with them. Has anyone successfully configured and used this feature? Thanks231Views0likes7CommentsHow do I port forward?

I was upgraded to 3Gig service, and the tech came out to install the new NAH and Boost7 AP. He told me Telus has been having issues with the 10Gig port on the Boost7 and to use the 2.5Gig port instead. I did notice faster speeds on the 2.5Gig port than on the 10Gig port. Is this a known issue, as I'd like to get my full 3Gig speeds to the AP?87Views0likes1Comment
