Home services renewal

  • My contract ends in July.   No renewal terms or deals have been sent to me.   Is there a customer loyalty tel number with a real person I can talk to?   I really have no patience for endless AI chatbot loops and on hold wait times that take hours.  Or do I need to get pricing from another company first and deal with their chat bots and wait times?   Such a time wasting game.

  • Phone them and ask for Customer Loyalty.  The webpage services will not and do not work as you expect - the webpage is effectively for marketing and if you log in for accounting - invoices.  Taking a positive view I think that they are neglecting the web browser portal for customer self service until they can introduce some AI (like Gemini).   I found in April in Vancouver that the phone customer service was fast and accurate and gave me (without prompting) the best deal going forward.  There was a second call required though (since the contract conditions which are emailed to you within minutes of the call) had an error - the first agent pressed the incorrect button?  But the second agent was easy to get through to and fixed it quickly and without prompting (except to identify the error).  Can an AI do this?   Yes if properly programmed but, and this is the big problem with AI's, if it has access to the correct data and the data structure.  Garbage in = garbage out works for humans and AI's except that AI's can get into do-loops where humans (at least experienced ones) get out of do-loops caused by data non-sense - the marketing model still has to make sense in a logical manner.  AI's struggle because they are normally not allowed to point out logical inconsistencies in their feed (the marketing or accounting model creator is often the AI  creator and who wants to be criticized by their child?).  Humans normally have no problem in pointing out logic problems to the creators.
