Guard Response Charges
I recently received a Telus bill with a surprise $75 charge for a guard response from last May (yes, almost a year ago). After contradictory information (this is a City of Calgary charge, this is our charge), they told me that you get 4 guard call outs before they begin to charge you in a 12 month period. That’s fine. What is not fine is that I have NEVER had a guard to the house before this May period when a house sitter was at home - let alone 4 times prior. On top of this May charge I am to ready myself for further charges as I was told that a guard came to our house three times when my service was suspended this winter while I was moving house. Not sure what address this person went to …??? I am absolutely beyond angry at the service from Telus. Guards are not meant to be dispatched to your home unless they have tried to call you first. There have been NO CALLS made to myself or my husband before these imaginary guards arrived. I do not believe it is fair that Telus allocate these charges before giving you some kind of backup as to the calls made (that the customer did not respond to) and paperwork from the dispatched guards. This feels so dishonest. The rep I spoke to at Telus has the authority to do nothing and, as of this moment given I am set for auto payment, Telus will happily be helping themselves to my account to cover their alleged charge. Please be aware.
