Charge extra cost for public ip and enablic stati
Hi @members or tech suport,
Woul i be charged extra cost for enabling static ip address under local network setting or enabling public ip address in network access hun modem?
I believe you need a business account to get a static address.
Also to add, if you're trying to set up static IPs on your local area network, and not the WAN side of things, yes it should be possible to reserve IPs through the NAH admin webpage and assign them to specific MAC addresses of your devices. You'll need to ensure that your devices are not set to randomize their MAC address or it won't work.
As FuzzyLogic mentioned, external or WAN static IPs are strictly on business connections, and there is a charge for them.
For a public IP, if your NAH WAN IP does not match your external IP on a residential connection, there's no simple solution. Look up CGNAT on the forums here.
retired telus internet tech, question is out of scope for tech support, the only thing we would do if someone wanted a static ip is transfer to business
