Telus Telemarketing Harassment

I get rude telemarketing calls now near daily from Telus offering me a free phone if I upgrade. There’s probably other pitches but I no longer engage long enough to listen.

I’ve said I’m not interested in upgrading at this time, the last time so forcefully yelling the marketer hung up on me. yet the honestly harassment continues.

I will not respond to any phone solicitation. All I get when I check the chat bit is to sign up for the do not call list. I’m already on it & it’s not helping. How can I get Telus to quit calling me for any marketing. I’m ok if there’s a problem with my account. But I’ve never had that happen.

  • Yes, there are many of us.  Have notified Telus Fraud, Telus Cybersecurity, tried to notify Telus Customer "Service" but gave up after 30 minutes on hold.  Canadian Do Not Call List is toothless and useless. Not sure what Telus corporate marketing idiot thinks harassment is how to get customers.

  • I am currently dealing with the same issue as of now. 14 calls in the last 14 days. First few calls i engaged but declined the services, then requested them not to call to the point were it is a practical joke now on Telus side to continually call me. Also registered on the DNCL but it does not work. The numbers are not saved in my phone but are coming up as Telus. Also called Telus directly and filed a complaint and still no resolution. This is harassment, do you know of anyone else dealing with this.

  • Why is Telus harassing their existing customers??! I am ready to go back to Shaw!! I have had Telus telemarketers call me every day for the past 16 days trying to get me to add mobility to my home services? Every time I decline and every time the callers are rude and pushy. I asked to be taken off their call list several times and they said they would but call back the next day!! Today I asked to be taken off the list, the caller said I would need to speak to someone in the home services division to be taken off the call list. On hold for 59 minutes to be told it will take 14 days to be taken off the list!! Telus has no respect for their customers time and privacy!! Very very disappointed in this company!! My time is just as valuable as yours is Telus, perhaps you will deduct my hourly rate from my bill??

Hi acrofton - We can make sure that you are removed from our marketing list. Can you please send us a message so we can make sure that the number calling you is us?

Thank you!  I didn’t know about call control.  That sounds like it would solve this completely!

A free phone? That sounds like a scam. There are several scammers out there pretending to be Telus recently and are offering free phones. The scammers don't abide by any do not call lists.

Thanks muchly!  That actually probably is it.  Makes sense & explains why they constantly phone.  A free phone is pretty believable as there’s always deals to be had.  & Telus themselves phones too much as it is, but come to think of it, their numbers show up as Telus, where these ones just show up as the number.  I bet more than a few do fall for it.
