Just seeing what the ideal requirements are for finer in a new home.
Do I run a fiber optic from the connection to the modem or cat 5 ??
My existing house runs cat 5 from the connection point to a Modem in the centre of the house. What's the recommended method

In a new home, the ONT should be in your telecommunications panel, and CAT 6 from there. I suggest at least 2 runs of CAT 6 to each location in your house, with multiple drops in living room or media room.
