Telus Network Problem

My phone was working perfectly fine today, and then after coming back to it after it had been charging for a couple hours I saw the icon indicating that it's not connected to a mobile network. After trying to troubleshoot it for a while, I found that I can make phone calls normally, but I can only receive text messages sent to me after connecting to the network by calling someone. As soon as I disconnect from the call, I get the messages and it takes me off the network again. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
