Re: Few Questions about parental blocks w ethernet jacks/wifi
Thanks for the information! i did hear him talking about changing the mac if he had to, so he clearly knows how to work around the suspension. ill just deactivate the jack in his room and force wifi on him so i have some control. If you read my above reply to another poster, you may understand what my situation is a bit more and may be able to direct me of where to go from here. i thought that with smartmesh (?) or whatever its called in the router settings was able to control everything including ethernet jacks, but im learning thats not that case. any other information will help, i appreciate it!1.3KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Few Questions about parental blocks w ethernet jacks/wifi
Thanks for the advice. Basically the short of it is, my kid doesn't seem to think that anything other than his xbox is a priority at this time in his life and i just would like the option to suspend his connection if he misses school, chores, etc. there is a jack in his room, which i dont mind deactivating from the wall.if need be so he only has wifi to rely on. i was trying to avoid this but it doesnt seem like there is any other option for ethernet connections at this point. as far as the connect app, its okay for me, but i still struggle trying to understand what exactly im looking at as far as the macs, band frequency and what to do with all of that stuff. i thought that getting access to the router itself might bring more understanding but it was only the opposite. in a nutshell, im not very savvy when it comes to this area of the internet connections lol.1.3KViews0likes0CommentsFew Questions about parental blocks w ethernet jacks/wifi
I have the Boost6, i've been able to log into the admin ip and what not but i can't figure out first of, how to decipher what devices im looking at (mac addresses) and moreover how to restrict or time gate specific devices. basically i want to know if i can control specific rooms in my house that have ethernet jacks or if im only able to control the wifi through my router login in. and if i can, how the hell do i do that? any help is appreciated. thanks1.4KViews0likes4Comments
