Re: Alarm system loses dial tone on Home Phone - it happened again!
Lost dial tone this morning again, this time the alarm failed to reset. Only at 7 am. But, the technical follow-up from a telus help call placed last time never arrived. Still wondering why. Never had this problem before we went to fibre.3.2KViews0likes0CommentsAlarm system loses dial tone on Home Phone - it happened again!
It repeated again this morning, yes, around 0400! We are on Telus fibre with the home phone using the fibre. The alarm system lost it's dial tone and began it's trouble beep = 'communication error'. By the time I got up the house phone had dial tone. I turned off the alarm sound and rebooted the fibre box (what is it called?) and all seemed well. Any chance that Telus does a 'system reset' or something like that early in the morning? It may also be time to cancel the home phone and get a cell for the alarm dialer. Any suggestions are appreciated. Paul3.5KViews0likes3CommentsAlarm system loses dial tone on Home Phone
On telus fibre with home phone using the fibre. Yesterday the alarm system 'lost' dial tone' and starts it's 'trouble beep'. Other house phones also had no dial tone. Yesterday morning this was at 0430 so I turned off the alarm sound. Later, at a more civilized hour I rebooted the fibre box (what is it called?) and all was well. This evening, while on a zoom call using the PC and the Ipad, the alarm system started beeping again. The wi-fi/Internet kept working. Strangely, while we were on the zoom call and the alarm warning was sounding I could hear the Zoom conversation on the home telephone. In the old days you'd call this 'crossed lines'. When we completed the Zoom call the alarm system kept beeping and the home DID have dial tone. The alarm system shows error code 4 = communication error. Any ideas where I should start? Thank you.
