When I use telus tv mobile app how do I lower video quality?

When I cast TV using the app I get buffering pauses all the time.  If I go to a station's website and lower video quality to 480p everything works fine

There may be an underlying issue with your internet connection, as you shouldn't need to lower your video quality to 480p. Are you experiencing this issue with buffering only, or even when viewing channels in general?

I get buffering when I try to cast to a TV. I don't have the newest equipment. It is probably because the signal gets mixed up between the chromecast and my phone. I do not use piktv for anything because of this. I login into crave through my internet provider and then lower the video quality. I only ask because right now my antenna is not picking up some local channels. When I try to watch the news through telustv the signal pauses every 10-15sec. Making it quite frustrating. I noticed that 720p works pretty good, but higher quality then this is iffy. I also noticed that I can watch telustv through my desktop which is hardwired to the internet.

Retired telus internet and tv tech.  Your issue is out of scope for ts. However tech support can check some other things. If on copper service they can check the line,  check dsl, check for restrains, check if perhaps on wrong internet plan,  use an app to see what your physical set up is

What would happen if I configured the router to slow down the traffic to a device? Does telustv know that it has to play video at a lower quality on that device? Or will it just buffer all the time?
Thanks Dave

When i watch telustv over wifi on a computer it works. The problem is my chromecast can not handle the high quality signal. I found ways to work around this. I was just wondering if I could get the telustv app to do what I want.
