Optik TV latest update 1.24.11.100

Rocky3
All-Star

On February 2, 2025 the current App version is 1.24.11.100 which was explained 24.11 means it was developed 2024 November. As App versions are not always changed with updates, Has there been any changes since?

BTW the config version is 1729713008, config timetable is 2024-10-23T19:50:08, MW version is 4.3.1.241022

I do see a change in the Android version, it is now 12,API:31, this was spoken of months ago but at last look mine was still ending in :29

Hi @Rocky3

The MW version update to 4.3.1 was rolled out gradually over the month of January. This change moves everyone from the Android TV 10 operating system to the Android TV 12 operating system. Together, the new firmware and OS are precursors to a handful of features. Notably, this includes:

  • 'Find My Remote' (press and hold the PAIR button on your set-top box to invoke a beeping sound on your remote. Once you've fished the remote out from your couch cushion, press the OK button to stop the beeping).
  • Text scaling (Settings > Device settings > Device Preferences > Display & Sound). You can increase/decrease the font of the user interface elements (menu items, program details, guide cells) up to 130% or down to 85%. This is great for accessibility.
  • Match content dynamic range (Settings > Device settings > Device Preferences > Display & Sound). This allows you to choose between the ability to match the dynamic range of the programming or force SDR output.

There should be a new app version coming in the next few weeks that includes further improvements. As usual, no promises on what is included until it can be fully tested. As you noted with the numbering convention, it will be in the format of 1.25.1.###  (25 indicating the year and 1 indicating the development month).

Going forward, it is unlikely that the MW version or Android versions will be changing. The App version will continue to be updated; the target is monthly app updates but certain high-viewership events (think Olympics, Stanley Cup Playoffs etc.) preclude updates.
