Disable Arm Stay Countdown / Beeping

blarm

How can I disable the arm stay countdown or, at least, the beeping? According to https://forum.telus.com/t5/Security/Panel-doing-a-beeping-countdown-when-Arming-Stay/m-p/156507#M243..., this started due to a bug in a system update. However, it's been 6 months since that was posted and this is still happening. I know there is a "silent arming" option but A) it needs to be selected everytime and is easy to forget B) there is no such option for scheduled arming.

I sent TELUS_Support a private message, which led to a phone call from a manager, which led to a technician being sent out.

The technician was able to disable a "delayed arming" setting for arm stay, which has caused the system to arm immediately without an exit countdown. Voila, no more noise from the panel when I arm stay.

We understand how frustrating this can be. At this time, the beeping countdown during Arm Stay is a known issue that originated from a previous system update. While "Silent Arming" is available as a workaround, we recognize its limitations for scheduled arming. Our team is aware of this concern, and we are actively working on a permanent fix. Unfortunately, we don’t have an ETA yet, but we appreciate your patience. If you'd like, please send us a private message, and we can get someone to look into any potential updates or alternative solutions for you.

I have the opposite problem.  My system has gone into silent countdown mode, and I see no way to re-enable the audible countdown.  Also, when I return home and want to disarm my system, the "disarm" screen no longer appears. I have to go to "scenarios" and then select "home".

Hi there, thanks for reaching out — we understand how frustrating this must be.

For the silent countdown issue, it's possible the audible exit/entry tones were accidentally disabled in your system settings. You can usually re-enable these by going into your panel settings > Sounds > Entry/Exit Delay Tones, and turning them back on.

As for the disarm screen not appearing, that sounds like a configuration or display setting that might need to be reset. We recommend performing a quick system reboot from your panel (Settings > Advanced Settings > Reboot Panel) to see if that restores the standard disarm flow.

Hi there,

Thank you for your reply.

I have confirmed that all sounds are enabled. Furthermore, I have rebooted the system. It has not had any effect.

Note: I've tried these steps many times in the past. FYI, my system started acting this way about 6 months ago, ON ITS OWN, and I've been living with it. I just haven't taken the time to report it here.

As I stated earlier, when I arm my system, there is no countdown of any sort (visible or audible). I can tell from my app (notification) that the system has been armed "Panel - Armed Away", and later that it has actually entered the armed state - "Panel - end of exit delay". There is no feedback from the panel itself.

Later, when I try to disarm, and touch the tablet screen, there is no "pop-up" that would prompt/allow me to disarm. Hence, I use a workaround that consists of clicking on the tiny buttons at the bottom of the tablet screen that take me to the "scenario" screen, where I can select "home", followed by my password code. This successfully disarms my alarm.

It's like the system is permanently in "silent arming" mode, with no way for me to turn it off.

Thank you for the detailed explanation — we truly appreciate your patience and the steps you’ve already taken to troubleshoot.

Based on what you’ve described, it does sound like your system may be stuck in silent arming mode, or there could be a deeper issue affecting the panel’s interface and audio feedback. Since the issue began on its own and persists despite reboots and settings checks, we’d like to escalate this to our technical support team for a deeper investigation.

Thank you. Can you please let me know how to send you a private message? I don't want to provide my personal information in this forum.

Or, am I missing something? 🤣

There is an envelope at the top right-hand corner. You can click on that and send us a private message.

Unfortunately I'm unable to find an envelope (icon/picture/anything) at the top right-hand corner. I think I need a better hint from you, lol. I have looked for an envelope (of any kind) in my gmail app (smartphone), in my web based gmail (chrome browser), as well as on the https://forum.telus.com website (chrome browser). I'm stumped.

Do you happen to know my email address? If so, could you send me an email that I can reply to? Just wondering.

Otherwise, I need more info in order to send you a private message.

Thanks!

I still don't know how to contact Telus support.  Can someone please enlighten me? I can't see the "envelope at the top right-hand corner" as described above (in a previous message above)

To add to my previous message: I was asked to send Telus support a private message. I don't know how. 🤔

We sent you an private message. Let us know if you see it.

By memory, there is two settings for sound. One for the alarm and one for the sensors.

If we are talking about the security system I had you get to settings by putting finger at top of screen and sliding down. To get to advance you need the master password.
