Stay away from Telus. If you have ANY OTHER option, take it.

I wish I could cross-post this on ALL boards, because after over 25 years with Telus, I'm done. 

 

After investigating why my Home Services bill went up $50 in a single month, I found out that it was because the agent who renewed my Home Services in June of this year forgot to update the renewal date on my TV service. All other home services had been renewed to a 2026 date. Well, now my date has expired on my TV service, they have removed all promotions, and am now paying $50 more a month on TV alone. After sending a message to Telus through apparently the only method of contact they now accept, they basically blamed me that I hadn't renewed my TV service and sent me a nice form letter to sign up for another 2 years with no offers, no bonus, nothing. Just hit 'accept', and we'll take advantage of you for another 2 years.

 

Combine this with the increase in price on my mobility bill after just renewing, the absolute garbage pit their customer support has become, and the quality of their cell service in our area, I'm done. Finally going to cut the cord, use another provider for my Internet, pay the early cancellation fee on my cell plan and move on. I know there really isn't any 'better' option, but quite frankly, anything is better than Telus.

I know my 2 year discounted plan is supposed to go up on renewal. $50 sounds about right for that.

I have the date bookmarked to investigate alternatives as well as renewal options to be an informed customer before deciding.

 

Yeah, I recommend it.

Problem is, I knew my promotional period was ending, so I did something about it in June and waited on hold for 2 hours to renew it. I have the emails from the day showing that I placed the order.

Doesn’t seem to matter though. Telus says it’s my fault and unless I want to spend a day waiting on hold, there’s nothing I can do.

There isn’t a tougher task

than trying to get this communication company to communicate with you. Been trying to cancel for months. They me a pm to verify my account and it failed, one more dead end. Meanwhile their bill keeps adding up, if you don’t pay to hits your credit…. At some point it has to become illegal. To bad they can afford the better lawyers…..:
