New wireless box not working without ethernet cable

Hi. I can't get my new wireless TV box to work unless it's hardwired into the router. Do I also need to replace/upgrade my VIP5662W PVR to use wireless boxes?

Have you restarted the box without the wired connection? Hopefully it will prompt you for you Wi-Fi info.

Make sure you have no ethernet connected to the Set Top Box.  Pull the power cord, count to5, plug it back in.  When prompted, push the WPS button on your gateway / modem. 

It should just connect if in WIFI range
