I'd like to know when Telus will be providing the rest of the Discovery channel shows that disappeared January 1 2025. This watered down version (essentially Discovery.ca shows) is unacceptable. 80% of the shows I enjoyed on Discovery channel have disappeared. The same would apply to HGTV being watered down to the Home channel. While I still enjoy the content on Home, there remains a giant void for some of the more popular shows from HGTV. I can only surmize the Home channel is going to be filled with Baumler reruns, based on the content I've seen.
I understand Rogers has aquired the rights to Discovery and HGTV in Canada, surely Telus can come to some sort agreement and work with Rogers. When I setup my channel package I specifically subscribed to World and Beyond for Discovery channel shows like Gold Rush, Moonshiners, Homestead Rescue, Bering Sea Gold, Outback Opal Hunters to name a few. All of which have disappeared mid season.

Telus doesn't control the content that is provided by the various broadcasters. This whole problem is between Bell and Rogers. Bell lost the rights to Discovery, HGTV, Magnolia, etc., and all the US content from those channels to Rogers. Rogers, like how they usually operate, has yet to allow a single other service provider in Canada access to the new Discovery channels, even though they have known about the change in ownership for a very long time. They will eventually allow the other providers access but they purposely do it this way to try to get customers to switch to them first. Unfortunately the CRTC and the federal Competition Bureau allow Rogers to get away with it.
If enough people complain about Rogers, maybe those organizations may do something with Rogers but it's hard to say how fast they'll act.

One additional avenue would be to reach out to your MP and complain to them.
