Rate change during agreement term?

HYC

My 2-year service agreement is up for renewal in about a month and half and I noticed that one of the discounts on my November bill was removed without notice. I called in and spent over two hours and finally got a one-time credit back.  However, the rep had also issued a modified agreement which is about $30 higher than my original agreement.  Since Telus can unilaterally change the price, what's the point of signing up for a contract?

It's incredibly difficult getting a hold of a rep who's helpful and at this point, I'm just not going to bother with the renewal and will just switch to another carrier at the end of the term.

This sounds like it might be an error or timing issue with the discount code that fell off. With a month to go (and likely changes to your plan since you've signed up), this could be a gap in your service agreement and the month to month (or updated pricing) for your plan. We don't generally raise rates in the middle of your home services agreement. If it's an error, it can be corrected after the fact.

All of this is can't be confirmed without looking into your account, though. We can take a second look for you. We'll send a private message your way.

I've spoken to at least 3 reps and they all checked my account and confirmed that all of the discounts have the same end date, which is the same as the contract term.  The last phone call was with an agent who stated that the discounts couldn't be reinstated without renewing the contract at a much higher rate compared to what Rogers is offering.  I'm not sure if I want to stay with Telus where every error takes at least an hour to fix.  This happened at the beginning of the contract term and now again at the end.
