If i'm out of town or using a VPN Telus does not allow login to MyTelus.com. I don't mind. I guess this mean if I can't get in when I'm out of town, I don't have to pay you.

That's good info that you think it's strange. The following is how I can reproduce it:
1. I use the link to get to mytelus on my firefox browser. My VPN is on.
2. Cloudflare does its thing to make sure I am not a bot
3. Login page displays
4. I enter my credentials
5. Message is: Our login system is currently down for maintenance. Please try again shortly.

6. Turn off VPN
7. Reload original login page
8. I enter my credentials
9. Displays the 2ndFA page as expected (after which I am into my telus account)

I put my VPN outside of Canada and still have no problem logging in.
However this was discussed at lenght if you are actually out Canada, then they will not allow connection to you Telus TV. Maybe it is the same for the account. So are you outside Canada?

No. I am currently not out of town. But this happened last year when I actually was. I will try another browser and see what happens. Maybe there is a connection between FIREFOX and being on VPN. I'll report back.

Well that didn't work. Under Edge, as soon as I clicked on the MYTELUS login link I got :

sorry that was confusing. Edge did not work at all. Using Vivaldi browser I was presented with the same error I get in Firefox when on the VPN: "Our login system is currently down for maintenance. Please try again shortly."

If I don't use VPN it's fine. But hey, that's an extra step to get in that I shouldn't have to worry about. Also you asked what the behaviour is if I use the app. (I assume you mean the phone app). I haven't tried that yet.

I continue to shake my head at the many inconsistances of Telus.
I just had a problem accessing Optik TV AFTER I was logged in with all other subscriptions available.

I am finding technology more and more inconsistent, unstable and unpredictable. Not limited to Telus, but related to the increased complexity of interconnected systems. 😣

I don't have a VPN running and I get that same login message every time from Chrome and Brave browser.
