the lady at telus broke my new cell!!!!

i went down to telus in the mall to swich out my new cell because it would not get service, the woman went to the back got a new one opened the box and tuned on the phone!!!!! SHE TURNED ON THE CELL FOR THE FIST TIME WITHOUT CHARGING IT !!!!! I DIDNT NOTACE SHE TURNED IT ON !!! i got home to plug it in and notaced it was on asking for set up info... like everyone knows u have to charge the cell b4 u turn it on for the first time or the battery life will stay at less then half nomatter how long u charge it !!! now she refused to switch it out for a new one ...

The newer style of lithium ion are not like the old Nickel-cadmium that had memories.

The usual problem that you can run into is where part of the battery(cells) decides not to work well with others and degrades performance. There is tiny power circuits in there for control  .  The other is where your phones battery charge meter is not synced with what the actual battery charge is.

Keep a note of it, or call Telus Mobility support to see if they might help,  and if you see battery degradation in the first month of use.

The only time lithium ion batteries will develop any problems is if they are either left on the charger non stop (rarely unplugging the device) or if the device sits for some time (months or years) with a dead battery.

Your phone battery is fine. I've turned on my last 5 new phones right out of the box without any subsequent battery issues.

As the others have posted, lithium ion batteries do not have the issues of the old NiCd batteries.

You should also still have a warranty in place to protect aganist hardware issues in the event something does happen.
