surely Telus can't be serious when they argue against the Verizon application and use works like " fairness" and "level playing field".    The big three canadian companies have enjoyed an unfair monopoly for years,  and Canada is widely know as just about the most expensive country in the world for cell service.    We need more competition in this country desperately.    Give your heads a shake guys !   you have earned massive unfair profits for years,  and hopefully it'll stop.

I love the low data rates when I was in China and Hong Kong, but here in Canada....

  • if Verizon charges roaming feels to Telus customers when they go South.... Telus can charge Verizon users roaming fees in Canada
  • cheaper discount carriers don't interest me.  Do you want surcharges when you leave urban areas?  Does the phone work in small towns?  Does the phone work when I'm indoors?  Does the phone work when I go into a transit tunnels?  If Verizon does not improve Moblicity's problems, they are no threat to Telus

Compared to Bell, Rogers & all the other low end / low performing carriers, Telus is quite fair and has CONSISTENT - RELIABLE network & customer service.  For most people, that's all that matters ... when you start looking for cheap free service, you will be heading for a pooooor overall mobile experience!

If people thinks that Verizon will come to Canada and offer cheap rates, they are most likely wrong. Verizon is known to be the most expensive carrier in the States and a quick look at their plans from their website shows that. More competition is for sure a good thing but it has to be healthy and fair for everyone.

I agree with XL, S3love and ET. Most people jump in the bandwagon before doing their homework. If you take a minute to check Verizon's webpage, you'll see that their plan costs are very similar to what we have in Canada. Also, take note that in a US market, they have much more potential clients, so shouldn't they be able to be much cheaper by having larger amounts of subscribers? Suppose they did come to Canada, they might offer crazy deals in the beginning just to grab the most clients possible and then they'll just boost their prices back up! Imagine if Telus, Rogers and Bell had to team up to compete against this giant of 4 times the size of those 3 reunited, then what? Bigger issue: 4 competitors become 2 and the cycle restarts! Lol... Please be advised that those are my personal opinions and do not reflect any of those brands i've mentionned. Thank you
