If you made a backup in iTunes or iCloud, a restore should return them. There are also a number of third party apps which claim to be able to restore deleted messages. A search using the terms 'text message' or 'retrieve deleted text message' should return some of the previous discussions on this topic.
Since SMS take so little space, I rarely delete them.
