can i trade a on contract phone and not pay the contract

Well i bought the samsung galaxy s5 about a month ago and i dont really like it and want a iphone 5s but im not sure if i can trade it in to get a iphone 5s

Sure, you can sell it. You are still responsible for paying the contract until it ends, or buying it out. So you could sell your Galaxy, and use the proceeds to defray the costs of the iPhone, but are still on the hook to pay out any moneys owing on the original phone.

You are beyond the return date, and while you could trade it in, you would likely take a considerable loss. You may well be best to sell it yourself, or swap with someone who has an iPhone but would prefer a Galaxy. Kijiji is your friend.
