In general yes.... however did you know there are 3 LTE standards? What was the original provider? Apple got badly sued when Australia could not use the latest iPad's because their high speed cellular standard was so different.

You would get HSPA+ 3/4G not LTE>You would get LTE on Rogers and Bell but Telus does not have the necessary neetwork to get LTE on eurpoean devices

They do, for the most part. Usually the carriers agree to share spectrum or share networks but with the 2600 mhz, the one in the XZ and is used a lot in Europe was sold to Rogers and Bell but Telus didn't get it and I guess Bell didn't want to share so alas Telus doesn't let you get LTE on European devices

For sure if the phone is capable of 4G or LTE, you'll get the network in question. For the reference if Telus will support your phone, check if it's compatible with the network by going to Device Compatibility Tool: http://mobility.telus.com/en/AB/phones-and-devices/devicecompatibility.shtml .
