Hi. I wanted to enable a SIM PIN on my phone but failed in attempts to set it up by inserting the correct default PIN to begin with. Now I have only one attempt left. Can someone help me with what the default SIM PIN is to enable my own? Thanks.

The SIM PIN is typically limited to 4 digits by default, as set by most carriers, including TELUS. However, once you change it, some SIM cards may allow a longer PIN (up to 8 digits) depending on the device and network settings. If you’d like to customize your PIN, you can try changing it in your phone’s SIM settings. If a longer PIN isn’t accepted, it means the SIM only supports a 4-digit PIN.

it should be 1234 unless you changed it at some point.

Thank you. Hehe, my last attempt worked out and I could change it successfully. One more question: Is the digit amount limited to 4 as shown by the default SIM or could you choose a 5, 6, 7 or 8 digit PIN?

Great advice. Thank you.

You'll need the PUK code to unlock your SIM. For security reasons, we can’t share this publicly, but we’d be happy to assist you! Please send a private message @TELUS_Support .
