It depends on your usage....

  • do you plan to be on airplane mode 100% of the time?
  • how much data do you average at home each day?  You can look up your usage patterns on your account.
  • do you plan to be relaxing and using your phone less?
  • Or do you plan to be using it more data for Google Maps, researching your next daily exploration, and making reservations each day?
  • when on vacation do you plan to be needing when no wifi is around?  Are you planning to stream video news from home?  Will you be using Skype to keep in touch with friends?

On some trips, I use 30mb a day.  On other trips I can consume 2gb a day when....

  • I refuse to pay stupid hotel internet fees that offer unsecured public connections
  • when free hotel wifi is painfully slow while it's shared with countless Skype & video streamers
  • I'm in an area where there is no wifi

If you do use wifi.... research VPN's like SurfEasy and Norton Hotspot Privacy.

If you do find your consumption high and unrealistic with Telus US Passes.... consider Roam Mobility to compliment your options.
