It depends on how important retaining your current phone number is for you, and how much data you plan to use, and calls you wish to make. Telus offers a number of travel options, or if you have an unlocked phone, you can buy a local SIM and plan at your destination. If you choose Easy Roam, remember it resets at the end of your billing cycle.
If you plan to use GPS for travelling, I recommend an App with on phone maps, downloaded before you leave. I prefer Copilot, and others have recommended Here Maps. This can cut your data consumption drastically.
