I am VERY disappointed that the Loyalty program was abolished....according to Telus, they say it was due to customer dissatisfaction with the program...THEY NEVER ASKED ME... I am a customer too....I believe that Telus should have made a better decision - on signing with Telus there should be the option to belong to the Loyalty program OR NOT....I used the program to get a new phone when my last one died.....I could not afford a new one otherwise....Now when the current one dies...Not sure whether I will stay with Telus or look elsewhere.

It's simple. If you don't use it, you lose it and it's very likely that very few people ever used that rewards program. Though I don't remember the rewards including replacement phones. If extremely few people used the "loyalty" program it would end up costing them more money to run it.
Bell's Loyalty program only offers you more minutes. Many newer plans start with unlimited anyways. http://www.bell.ca/Mobility/Promotions/Prepaid-Loyalty-Rewards-Program
Telus still has the Platinum Perks program but that's for business. http://mobility.telus.com/en/AB/stand_alone/platinum.shtml
Rogers has First Rewards but you have to spend a TON of money (If you can even get Silver it's $1 = 1 point and 500 points only gives you $5 off your next cell phone upgrade)
