Got a call from someone claiming to be from Telus, they knew my cell number, email address and backup number, also the telus account number. They wanted to give me a discount on my service, they wanted a number that was texted to me so they took control of my email then they wanted a credit card number (which I didn't give then) then they hung up. I spent the rest of my time changing passwords and contacting people. How did get my info?

This does sound like a scam or a phishing attempt. Out of curiosity, which number(s) did they call from (though this can be spoofed as well)?

I got a call like that this afternoon. claiming to be from telus and saying that i would get a 30% discount for the next year because i am a good customer. they asked how much i paid for my last bill, and i said i did not know. then they hung up. when i called the number back a child answered.

It's most definitely fraud. To go immediately from calling you a "customer" to then asking how much you pay is quite the contradiction.
Our outbound numbers are never local numbers but always remain vigilant even if the number appears legitimate at first. If you shared your info with the caller, consider filing a report with the Canada Anti-fraud centre: https://antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/report-signalez-eng.htm
