why some power banks act differently from what they been claimed online?

Just Moved In

Currently, i would like to buy a power bank for my iphone 5s, but i find numbers of power bank chargers claimed to have charge capacity as high as 12000mAh, 18000mAh, 20000mAh, or even higher, selling at the Internet stores. I have found one at the website www.koeok.com by goole and i am confused whether to go ahead! I was informed that if they are unbranded and selling at a very cheap price, i need to make a decision after long deliberation. Well, the thing is, how do i know whether is it a reputable power bank supplier and know the real capacity of the power bank?A terrible news i have heard is that some power bank could be filled with sand. Oh my god!

I've been using the Momax products from NCIX with no complaints....

  • yes pay attention to the mah rating.  Smaller mah means portability and lower cost.  Higher mah offers multiple uses before needing to be recharged, as well as the ability to charge up a tablet battery.
  • smartphones are typically 1500 to 2000mah battery.  If you buy one that's 6000mah, it can charge your phone from zero to 100% about 3 to 4 times without recharging.
  • I like 6000 to 8000mah batteries, not too big, but not too small for multiple uses

  • tablets are 8000mah to 12000mah.  I love my Momax turbo.  At 16800mah, it can recharge my tablet 1.5x or a typical phone about 12 times before needing to be recharged.

  • some products not only charge phones and tablets... but your laptop too!

The iTough batteries have a much more solid case for abuse.

One complaint about external batteries is how fragile the USB ports are... especially if you leave the USB cord plugged in and there's stress on the ports.

Before I ever decide on a specific accessory I will do multiple searches on sites like eBay and Amazon.

I will pay close attention to the past consumer reviews. This is a very good way to weed out sub-par products.

By the way....

Poster is a possible spambot, organic version.

More sites and 6 months of history show general questioning about website and product.

Hopefully he's a real human being! lol A few other things to consider are form factor, charge & charging rates (1amp/2amps/etc), indicator types (numeric percentage v.s. dots), and as was mentioned "stress test" reviews! 🙂

I highly reccommend @NexTekEnergy they are a Canadian company based in British Columbia or Powertrip is another Power Bank that i use daily.

Additional power is a must.

Was on a flight recently and battery died. Had to listen to a screaming baby for 2 hours. 😞

@Artemis   Really? Most of the flights I've been on lately had either a USB jack (AirCanada usually - larger / renovated planes) or a normal power outlet.

I didn't plan correctly. Had all my cables/cords packed in my bags under the plans 😞

@NightWing-Robin They cut the dB of the fussing children no matter the state of charge of the battery!
