why does it keep saying there is no sim card in my phone when there is one in it

I took my battery out last night and today when I put it back in that is what it said

1. Please also remove and put back in the SIM to ensure it is position properly.

2. If your SIM is not registering it maybe best to call in or provide the SIM here so we can ensure it is assigned to your phone number.

3. If number 1 is correct and number 2 has all the proper information then you will require a new SIM. (Sorry)

There are two possibilities available.
1.There may be a problem in your Sim card so try another one.
2.Your mobile is locked to particular network provider.
