I guess you can say I am venting and asking a question here...
My contract is in what I call in a reasonable buy out range - still another year out - but affortable to buy out.
I would like to get a Nokia 1520. And this is where my frustration comes in.
TELUS isn't offering the 1520 as of yet. Nor can they say they will offer the 1520. I find this stupid.. I am telling TELUS, I want stay with TELUS - just tell me if I should wait or buy one... but always get the same boiler plate response.
TELUS resellers/dealers won't even source a 1520 via their distrubtion networks, because the 1520 isn't offered by TELUS.
TELUS won't even give me a straight answer if the 1520 will work, etc (I know it will, I have done by research, but it would be nice if TELUS at least provided some kind of assurance).
So at the end of the day - my take away is - other then giving TELUS a monthly amount for the use of their network, TELUS isn't really offering me anything of value. Their plans aren't signficantly better then anyone else (nor is anyone else signficantly better then TELUS) - each provider has its wow pieces - but overall they will match each other.
Want I would like to know, from people that have purchased non TELUS phones, what kind of issues have they encountered with network usage and support?
..how is the future friendly?..

The main thing to consider is whether a phone from another carrier supports Telus frequencies.
Don't forget to have the phone unlocked for Telus.
