We recent notices that the Telus EmailToSMS feature recently sending 2 Byte Characters text characters instead of single bytes plain text characters. This is an issue for us because we have legacy product that using a Telus SIM cards and which are capable of receiving and parsing SMS messages. The device logs show that the inbound SMS messages sent using the Telus EmailToSMS feature are no longer single byte text characters but are now two byte characters.
Is there a work around for this issue in order for us to send text messages using the Telus EmailToSMS feature in such as way that the recipient Telus device receives the message as single byte text characters?
