Swollen battery, less than 2 years old and being charged?

Hi, I have a defective phone (S22+) that has just started to have its battery swell & starting to split apart the phone. The phone is slightly less than 2 years old and it's the bring-it-back plan so the phone has to be returned in less than 2 months from now. I checked the warrenty via the Telus warrenty-lookup and your website and it says it should still be covered under the Telus Device Care Plan due to it being less than 2 years and its a defect not self-inflicted damage. I don't understand how it is am being charged $250 to have it replaced/fixed? this is pretty unacceptable.  every time i try live chat there is no rep available and i don't want to use the callback option, the phone is pretty dangerous atm with the battery swollen so i refuse to even turn it on.
