Last Monday: Nov-24-2014.- The new forum version 2.0 - it was launched to the public. Unfortunately the "Layout-Changes" it hasn't been very welcome for most of the membership. Proof of that is the reduction in posting and replies. I request to those members, who are concern about the forum functionality to post -Their suggestions as to which features, should be kept it or removed, also Should we Request to "Return at the Older Version" PS send you comments to this forum board.
I'll try to make a "Review of the main changes" Affecting Navigation, Editing, Log In, Post & Reply,.etc. on the main Screen. I'll classified as PROS & CONS. How sounds that TELUSTERS!
P R O S: 1) New Home-Page: it shows at front top--2Members one of them ask a question the another answer it. This change is acceptable, from my stand point of view. I'd rate it with 4****
2) Users now have the ability to view and easily, open most of the (Main forum boards i.e. The Mobility) includes 3Boards [Mobility acct: Mobility services: Mobility devices] Now not need to expanded from Mobility, similarly behave the other ones. Let's keep it and I'd rate it with 5*****
3) It display now the exactly, yearly discussions and active number of Contributors a data-requested by <v9> recently. If clicked one of these 'Data' it display a blank Search-bar to ask questions. Keep it. I'd rate it with 3***
4) The Home-Page: Is full of animals, fishes, birds,.etc. No surprise it promotes the Telus-Media-images to attract new costumers. I'd to see the TELUS World Science on the background or a Giant classic Phone as a theme. Keep it & I'll rate it with 3*** ..I've more, but others can enumerated them.
Here are the C O N S: 1) Displaying Post Title - Author - Latest reply in days - That's all what the new format shows up, wait it shows a features like: [Most popular] [Resolved]. This is the most disliked (New feature) the former, layout it used to display these columns [Post title] [Replies] [New (new post)] [Author] [Likes] [Views] [Latest-replies] with nickname +date & time: All these it has been removed.
2) Options when we read a post: Say that I open the Mobility devices on the new Layout. The arrow located on the upper right corner, doesn't display all the options, like before [Subscribed, Highlight, Print, Edit,.etc.] Make it impossible to Edit any post. The options only display: Share & Report-but no action if clicked.
3) The new forum-Screen display in ea. board a list of most helpful members. For my case I analyse the Mobility devices. Here it shows 5Members, with their Nicks & Avatars assigned by the software, but we can't view the likes received (Unless we click an avatar-Before it was viewed at once) Neither display the list, with the rest of Contributors. I Stop here-Too much to read..Send your ideas soon! Bye <v9>
Solved! Go to Solution.

EDIT: And some way to edit the posts without having to code in HTML?
@ScottyJ
Maybe it would have helped if we were more clear that this is a beta?
--------------------------------------------------------
To go from the 'working forum' and dropping down to a 'beta forum' is never good.
I'd call this new version an 'Alpha forum', since most of it is not activated to even compare with the old version.
Even editing the first post, after many replies, makes it show as the last user posted, instead of the actual last poster.
For an example for bad website building:
The Site Digg.com. They killed the site with 2 major changes that were not received very well by the users. To me, one of those bad changes being all the links were in an iFrame(linked content shows embedded, without leaving the Digg site). Aside from a political hate group voting up sewage from thousands of dummy accounts. The new owners have done a clean non-combative build, to show for non-registered users, along with keeping most of the sewage down in the bowels.

I've seen many other forums who changed the forum software to another maker and they built it in a separate beta, tested it all and then put it out with barely a complaint.
https://www.phpbb.com/
Would be nice too if I can once again right-click links to forum sections/posts to open in a new window instead of the right-click sending me to the linked page, when I wanted to keep the main page I was on in another window. Saves the time going back and forth and keeps a central point of access.

Latest UPDATE: After 10 hrs. of being sent this post, nobody have emit their opinions on the "New forum-Interface" I know there're 35 comments on the Neighbourhood blog, but with more that 18.000 active members the number of opinions, doesn't reflect that there's--any concern about the changes.
So now it turns out that members are satisfied, with the new version. I decided to send this post 'cause, one of the ADMIN said it recently that, we could express our opinions about this subject. So again if any member would like to post a comment (Positive-negative) PS do so. Thks <v9>
BREAKING NEWS: Last Update in this "Hot topic" by nasty the Super Contributor. Thanks for his important input on this issue of the "New forum-Interface" but also about the insights, about what changes it's been caused, with the arrival of a new Boss in <Telus.com> I hope other members, can express their views, about this matter. The Future is Unknown. <v9>
ATTENTION: To those who monitor the forum. Is correct that, right now appears this post "Last activity twice" PS fix it.

I want to say I'm glad to see the rollback. It was impossible to sign in. I just gave up.
The RSS feeds are still not working after the rollback.

Ugh.... they rolled back to the new version this morning. I'm helpless again. Still no RSS feeds.
12-02-2014 11:30 AM
There hasn't been a rollback, there are still some elements (i.e. email notifications) that drive to the old interface version of the forum. Because of this asynchronicity, I don't think RSS is working, but is on the list for re-introduction.

@xlxo Which RSS feeds are most important? I'm assuming you want to subscribe to a board feed?
12-02-2014 11:49 AM
I would say RSS feed to the latest activity would be great. On the old version it was...

Hey that's weird...
When I log in with XL, it rejects me. However when I log in from your email notification... it works!

@nasty Commenting on the forum development cycle, the same team that put our new design in to production is the same team that continues to work on it. We knew we were going out early, we wanted to get real world feedback and experience outside of the focus groups and testing (which don't necessarily capture all the needs and wants of the real community.
We've done several releases since the first one, and have quashed a great many of the bugs that you and others have reported. At the same time, we're also taking all the feedback around the design, and we're doing many changes in that regard, too.
We know that what we have now isn't perfect, which is why we keep working, and will be progressively (re-)adding features in more subsequent releases. Maybe it would have helped if we were more clear that this is a beta?
At any rate, please keep the bug reports coming - we've addressed a bunch, have more in the hopper, but want to make sure we identify them all.

Hi Folks,
I understand that the premature switch to the new site has caused some frustration for you, our users. We really appreciate your patience while our development team works to fix the bugs on the site. Please keep the bug reports coming!
I also just wanted to issue a friendly reminder to keep your posts constructive and make sure you follow the House Rules.
