Roaming Charges

Just Moved In

Hi,

If I am in another province and I am making long distance calls to my home province, how can I make sure that I have the best rate on my mobile device?

Thank you.

Susanne

Welcome to the Neighbourhood @slankhaar 🙂

So there are a few things you might need to consider.

1) Most new plans include unlimited nationwide calling. This allows you to travel anywhere in Canada and call anywhere in Canada without additional fees

2) If you know you have a plan that does not include long distance, you can add one of their long distance plans for the duration of your trip. It costs $15/mth but you can add it for 5 days for example and just pay the prorated amount by adding/removing using your online account. Deets here http://www.telus.com/en/bc/mobility/plans/long-distance.jsp

3) When you travel outside your local calling area you can place a call to that area without additional charges, but if you receive a call from anywhere, you will be charged long distance. Ex. You have a Calgary number and travel to Vancouver. You can call any local Vancouver number without additional charges, but if anyone calls you, from your home area or otherwise, it's long distance.

Phewf! That was a long answer. Hope it's helpful. 🙂
