I’d be hesitant to buy a phone with a custom unknown Android rom on it where the company selling it won’t give you the real name for the phone. The “Genesis 2” is actually a Blu Bold K10 . The Blu K10 should work with LTE on Telus. It has no 5G support. Considering it’s a super cheap phone, expect there to be limitations with it and its features and performance.
Pinwheel doesn’t appear to go into detail about all of the changes made to Android the put on the phones in place of the original version that shipped with them. Doesn’t say if it still connects back to Google and if Google is busy collecting all the info. Pinwheel’s curated app list does include some apps, especially the Google ones, that collect a lot of user data. I’d be really curious how the claims Pinwheel makes would apply to the third party apps.
