I actually don't mind the waiting, as it's completely understandable - every seller of this device is experiencing a shortage. The only frustrating part for me is the lack of communication and keeping their customers updated on the situation. But I perhaps jumped the gun in saying I would cancel my order and close my account. I do think they could improve with the communication, but it's fully possible that they just don't know. Even if they emailed me saying that they didn't know when they would be able to ship my device, I would be happy. 😄
I certainly would never call anybody and yell at them, I'm not that type. I also don't think this is something to call the BBB about, because like you said, it's a pandemic. Most of us have never faced anything like this in our lives. I'm sure everyone at Telus is working very hard right now and scrambling to sort everything out, but of course it's easy to be on the other side of things and complain on a forum about waiting for 2 months with no updates. I do need my device for work, but it's not the end of the world. In any case, thanks for giving some perspective @Laurenz . Honestly I've never had any issues with Telus and their service for the 13 years I've been with them, so what I said previously wasn't my most rational thought. 😉
All we can do is wait!
I said that out of frustration on this matter however that doesn't give a excuse of " they don't know" right?. They are a telecommunications company. They could easily send out a biweekly email giving updates. Even if it's the same thing or saying " unfortunately at the moment Apple has not shipped us the IPad for u". That would be a better communication then 0 replies back. Look at Rogers. With all due respect? They are actually emailing customers and have a agent that gave someone a answer online and asked then to message then privately to look into it. So why can't Telus do this?
Why can't they even reply back to the emails? Even if they don't know. Why haven't they made the effort to reply back to anyone?. It seems like they want to use the " pandemic"
I need the tablet for work as well and my old ipads battery is dying within an 1-2hrs. I won't dish out money to get a new battery for it since I am getting a new one. I'm not blaming Telus for the delay. The delay happened on Apple because of the COVID-19. However I do blame Telus for the lack of communication and responses back to us.
Well if Telus lacks communication what are we supposed to do?. Why have a product online showing " in stock limited availability ( 6-8 week wait) when it's truly not in stock? U see what I mean?.
Also when Telus fails to send out biweekly emails to let customers know what's happening. That's what is upsetting most. The lack of communication from them. They could easily have a email scripted to send out each week or two until the tablets come in right?. That's better then 0 replies and no communications at all. While everyone's working from home and such, the webstore team receives and sends out emails. They could easily reply back within a couple of days or week but they haven't even done that.
Every Rep I spoke to? I was always kind with just one which kept calling me " mam" and tried to overtalk ontop of me lol. The managers I spoke to o even said that telus webstore shouldn't have it shows " in stock" and surprised that the webstore team hasn't emailed anyone back. I actually had one Rep that read this thread while I was online with her and she was surprised.
LOL! Yeah I would be doing the same thing too and snap lol. It happened with my iPhone 7 Plus actually. I got it from Apple and the screen was cracked. The Apple store Rep just looked at me and yeah that look I'll never forget. Let's all just hope they come in, in working condition without any problems 😂
I also ordered the 11 inch! I got my shipping confirmation last night & it is currently out for delivery. I ordered on June 24th so it took exactly a month. I guess the 12.9 inch was in higher demand than the 11 inch, causing the delays to be much longer.
None of us who ordered the 12.9 model for the shipping email. It seems like Apple hasn't sent any to Telus and even Apple themselves don't have any. i checked around and no one including Apple stores don't have it in stock.
So Ashley Furniture called me regarding my couch order from late March I did.. They just told me it's in their warehouse and delivery is next week. This took almost 4.5 months to get. ( brand new couch which was never in production before and a new model).
Apple? Still has issues building the new IPad 12.9 and sending then out. Still waiting at 6-8 weeks lol. So who truly knows haha.
Let's hope I get both next week to enjoy! Lol
I’m starting to mind the waiting a bit more now. I’m really starting to wish I had just ordered directly from Apple at this point. I don’t know what else to say other than this really sucks, and Telus is awful at communicating with their customers.
I checked with Bell and they haven't received any form Apple since early June. So it seems to be a issue with Apple bit supplying the carriers the tablets more then the carriers having them.
I spoke to Apple regarding a issue I had and asked them about the tablet. They said they have had some unhappy customers call them too regarding the wait. Apparently Apple is having issues supplying the 12.9 LTE models to carriers and to their own stores too.
At this point I got a couch I ordered back in April faster then this tablet and the couch wasn't ever in production before that. So km starting to think Apple is having issues and not telling anyone...
I'm also with you on how Telus isn't communicating either. The least they could do is send out a email and reply back. Laziness.
Honestly at this point I am thinking this 😂. No Apple has them since middle of June. Bell has none either online or in stores. Telus same thing.
I'm starting to think Apple is either having major issues producing them or something.
Nice! I contacted 4 Bell stores in zthe malls close to me in Toronto and none of them had stock. No bell store around downtown Toronto / Scarborough or north York had any. Only 1 had 2 returns but couldn't sell them.
I'll just keep waiting lol.
I've been reading many of your answers and you seem pretty efficient so I will try to find some answers here, I didn't get much success with Telus webstore,
I ordered my IPAD on June 09th 2020 was expecting a delivery by 3-4 weeks than got a email saying it would be 6-8 weeks understandable in the circumstances but its been 8 weeks today that's two months with no update or any sign of shipping what is going on here i'm running out of patience as i use my Ipad for both work and video editing.
thanks in advance for the follow up.
Welcome to the club. 😁 I ordered on June 2nd, and have received no shipping or updates at all. Some ordered in May and still haven't received any emails.
I just read an article that there is next to no stock anywhere. Ordering from Apple now could take until late August, so we probably won't get ours until September. Looks like @Laurenz got super lucky - grats btw! I highly doubt any stores around where I am will have any in stock., so I'll just have to keep waiting too. 😭
You mean Sept. Apple has a 3-4 week delay as well if u order it today per say. Lol. When u contacted Apple tech support for some issue I asked and they said even in the US they are having the same issue.
Unfortunately Brandon can't really help out or give much information. He gives out the same information many reps know which are from a script unfortunately. So he can't do much. Also the department that deals with the online orders and communication? Is next to useless as they never email you back and u never hear from them.
As i said above and so did Wynn. Many companies and carriers do NOT have stock of the IPad Pro 12.9 cellular model since middle on June . Even the Apple stores have none in stock for the past month and half.
I ordered mine June 24th and in 6 weeks right now.
