Can't send email from iPad while in USA and Mexico

While I was in Houston and later in Mexico I was able to receive Telus email but I could not send. I double checked my settings and was using SMTP port 1025. I was using an iPad with IOS 10.2.1. I was able to send using Gmail and iCloud.

  • Account Type: IMAP
  • Incoming settings:
    • Username: full telus.net email address
    • Password: telus.net email password
    • Mail server: imap.telus.net
    • Port: 993
    • Security type: SSL
  • Outgoing settings:
    • Username: full telus.net email address
    • Password: telus.net email password
    • SMTP server: smtp.telus.net
    • Port: 1025
    • Security type: SSL
    • Require sign in: checked
  • If you're still having issues and those are your settings call 1-888-811-2323. It's toll free in Canada but, I'm not sure about the US

My current setup, which works in the USA, matches that provided by @Mobility_Princess except SSL is off.

If I have trouble with it, I usually just choose gmail as my outgoing server from within the mail app.

I checked my settings and the only thing that was missing was SSL I have turned in on but I can't check to see if it works because I am back at home in Canada. I could not see the incoming port in settings but incoming was working OK.

Oops, my mistake, I am able to see the incoming port and it was set to 993. Now it has SSL turned on too.
