Area code 368 is a pain

MikeyMike

Several APPS (Petrocan) and restaurants including Mexican Kitchen in Whistler don’t recognize my phone number as being valid.

It appears the 368 area code is problematic.

The 368 area code isn't something Telus created. The CRTC approved area code 368 with an implementation date of April 23, 2022. So it has been around for almost 2 years now. If the app developers out there haven't bothered updating their apps in the last two years, you may want to provide feed back to them about two year old area code changes.

The new area code has nothing to do with Telus as it's in use by ALL telecom companies that offer service in Alberta. That includes Rogers, Bell, TekSavvy, Primus, and the various VoIP providers that are out there.  If the owners of the various apps you are using, and businesses you patronize like gas stations and restaurants, don't want to put the effort into updating their apps and systems, that's on them.
