Phone update or change
If you've recently upgraded or upgraded your phone, there are some steps you need to take. Below are some resources to help you get started with your new device. Let's get started!
Order online
Most flagship devices are available for pre-order the week before their official launch date. This is a great way to ensure that you get the latest device from the comfort of your own home. However, we all know that waiting for the phone to arrive can be excruciating. To help you out, we recommend using our handy Order Status tool to keep tabs on where your order is headed. We even explain how to use it here !
Replace your SIM card
If your old phone used the same SIM card as your new one, you can usually just remove it and insert the SIM card into the new phone. If you want to swap the SIM card online, we have a handy guide on that too!
However, if your new phone requires a different size SIM card or you are a new TELUS customer, you will need to purchase one. We always suggest ordering it at the same time as your phone, but if you forgot it, you can easily order one online or pick one up at your nearest TELUS store.

Protect your device
Now that you have your new phone ready, let’s talk about protecting it. An important step is to consider a new case to protect your new device. More than just an accessory, these cases can give you peace of mind with their shock-absorbing, waterproof, and extra grip features. It’s always a good idea.
Purchasing an extended warranty is also a good choice, as manufacturer warranties only cover hardware failures. TELUS Device Protection and AppleCare+ extend the manufacturer's warranty by up to two years and add protection against accidental damage.
That's it! You're ready to use and protect your new phone. Do you still have questions about your order or your new device? Feel free to contact us on our Twitter or Facebook pages , or ask your questions to the community on the Mobility Forum !
