Hello Everyone,
I got an phone call recently with an email regarding a "promotion/discount". Was wondering if anyone else had 587-812-8188 with an email from someone named max ([email protected].) Extremely suspicious of this.
They had asked Driver License number, SIN, or bank which I know is standard for telus to correctly identify the person but extremely suspicious of it. I've attached an email to be safe as well.
Thanks.

It is 100% a scam. Not a Telus number and definitely not a Telus email. 587-812 NXX belongs to Iristel. They appear to frequently sell VoIP access to overseas scammers.

Cool, thank you. I was pretty sure but I needed to confirm with somebody. Thank you Nighthawk.

I had the same call from Max. He had access to all my services and knew all that I had, so it felt legit. I fell for it, but got worried after, and changed my password.

Hello dswilde, so many scams out there so you did the right thing and whenever in doubt, hang up and call us directly. Telus people should be using an email address that ends by @TELUS.com and they're not supposed to ask for personal information. Hope everything will be alright and keep us posted!
