Need more wired lan ports

Ralph_h

I am running cable for a new wired desktop. I was going to go from the existing telus device and add a switch where one one the current devices are. There are four existing ports all in use. Teo lines run to some weird little junction that appears to wire directly to two of the lines in the house. The other two do the same for two other lines. It looks like telus cut the ends off my lines and wired them into these little boxes. Any suggestions. I can't see any way to add a switch to get more ports.

They appear to be a terminus for Ethernet, so a standard Ethernet cable can be plugged into it. Two in, two out.

You could put a switch between one of the ports on the existing router and the four ethernet lines you describe. You would then have three ports on the router to use as you please.

Installed the switch, no issues. Thanks.
