How does this work exactly?  Telus hardware is limited to 1x2.5Gbps port.

Actually that is not accurate. 

 

Enter the device known as the “NAH” more technically known as the Arcadyan NH20A, or the Technicolor FXA5000 virtually the same device for all examples here. Both of these devices support a 10Gbp/s connection either as a standalone router/firewall device, or in 10Gbp/s bridged mode if you plan on using your own router device.
