Moved into a new development of about 40 Townhouses 2 years ago, didn't realize that its a Shaw Exclusive area. I have spoke to head of our Strata and was told that if Telus could come in and get their service in our area for no cost to the residents(strata) that they would most likely give the green light on it. I have forwarded that info to Telus but have not go any response from them in over 3 weeks.
It's is actually possible that Telus could come in and install Fibre in our area with no cost to the Strata?

Your Strata actually has to put in the request.
Advise one of the strata representatives to fill out this form: https://fibre.telus.com/stratafibre/ . That's what we had to do in my strata. We heard back from Telus fairly fast (I'm on my strata).

Was there any cost to the Strata for doing so?

If your strata is in one of the communities where PureFibre was deployed (or will be) then likely it is near your complex and it is simply a matter of extended it out. When they did the deployment in Port Coquitlam, they ran the fibre to all the homes and inside for anyone that wanted to switch or was updating their service.

If the strata signed an exclusive contract with Shaw I doubt Telus could do anything.

You will have to have your Strata Council fill out the pertinent information here.
